SUMMER WILDLIFE

Male Ring Ouzel, Coire an t-Sneachda
We are well into the Summer season now. July and August are actually my least liked months of the year. I guess the vast majority of the UK population it may well be the two months of the year they look forward to! I dislike the height of Summer months for a variety of reasons. They are:

Usually quality of light for photography

Can be very wet

Too hot/rainy/midgy ( your waterproof clothing will be trying to do the impossible)

Too many people!

There are, of course, some wonderful aspects of the Summer months. The flowers on the hills are at their finest and long daylight hours. Here's a few photos of the flora and fauna I took over the last couple of days.

Bog Cotton,  Northern Cairngorms

Shower clouds, Monadhliath

Cloudberry in fruit

Very green

Summer coat

Coire an Lochain

Meadow Pipit

Starry Saxifrage

Coire an t-sneachda

Mountain Hare & Golden Plover harmony
