BIKING IN THE MONADHLIATH

Miles of deserted biking
With the summer holidays in full swing it's time to find tranquility in the hills. Don't get me wrong, I love people. But stuck behind huge swathes of folk on a mountain is not fun if you're idea of escaping to the hills is for peace and quiet. Today we headed to a little known area on the Monadhliath.

Deep crossing

Where is everyone?

Lovely
With a mix of easy, level estate tracks and some steeper sections it seemed ideal to take the bikes out for a spin. The estate we biked on is one of the more enlightend estate owners. No sign of any muir burning on these heather clad hills. This particular estate owner is keen to let wildlife flourish alongside more traditional estate work.

Peak time for flowers
There are no Munros or Corbetts in this part of the Monadhliath which is probably the main reason for it being such a quiet area.
Pansey's
A brilliant ride up, gaining 400m of ascent. Of course the descent was fun and quick. Brilliant day.
