NAVIGATION

Caroline was on a navigation course with me today. We were on Meall Corranaich in excellent nav course weather, ie low cloud conditions and a bit of wind & rain thrown in. It was a quiet day, no one on our hill. We covered all aspects of mountain navigation.

BEN NEVIS

Last Saturday I was guiding Christina, Sasiska and Ilnami on Ben Nevis, as always lots of folk out. In complete contrast I was out in Ardgour with Robert & Laurence on Sunday and we never saw a sole. We went up Stob Mhic Bheathain and Meall Mhor above Cona Glen. No paths but excellent walking and great views as we were out of the cloud all day.

NAVIGATION COURSES

Yesterday I was running a navigation course for Jim. We were on the north side of Meall nan Tarmachan. It was quite a cool day and cloud cover on the tops. Down lower today we were checking out the Orchids near Glen Lyon. We spotted lots of Marsh Orchids, Fragrant Orchid, Bird's nest, White and Heath Spotted Orchids.

SKYE

SCORCHING ON SKYE

Last week I was away guiding on Skye in absolutely wonderful weather. It was hot & sunny for the whole five days, guiding Louise & Geoff on various parts of the island. Also been guiding on Ben Nevis again, several times including the 3 peaks challange events for charity. That is Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon ( highest peaks in Scotland, England & Wales). The teams raised money for The Antony Nolan Trust which was set up in the 1970's for blood marrow donors.
