EAST WAS BEST
Cousin team Dave & Robin were out with me today on their first ever mountain, Ben Nevis. It was a mostly cloudy day with just the odd glimpse of sun and below freezing on the summit. There is still lying snow from the top of the zig zags to the summit and there are still some folk who seem to think it's summer, dressed in shorts and trainers. The guys were up and down in 7 hours which is a great time considering their first time on a mountain and with enormous rucksack's! There as been snow lying on the higher tops for the last couple of weeks, is this a good omen for another fantastic winter? The long term forecasters seem to think so but I'll wait and see! The East seemed to have got the best of the sunny weather today.
