BIG MUNRO DAY

Looking across to Braeriach from the plateau
Derry Cairngorm in the distance, Rachels 2nd Munro today
The beautiful Loch Avon basin
The top of Cairngorm, final Munro today
It was a much better weather day for Rachel and I as she notched up 3 more Munros in The Cairngorms. On her hit list was Ben MacDui, Derry Cairngorm and Cairngorm. We took a wonderful and spectacular route to reach all the summits, including the highlights of the trek, Loch Etchacan and Loch Avon. We had cloud down on the last 200m of MacDui but the rest of the day we enjoyed plenty of Autumn sunshine. The snow that was lying above 1000m was crunchy after last nights low temperatures but by this afternoon all the snow had melted away off Cairngorm where we enjoyed a fine setting of the sun in the late afternoon. Looks like a nice and sunny weekend.
