FIACAILL RIDGE IN THE CLAG AND COLD

Careful route finding in current avalanche conditions
Hasty lit revealing some interesting layers

On the top and smiles all round
Today I was joined by Steve & John on their winter course with me this weekend. After a quick run down with axe and crampons and some avalanche assessment we headed up to the Fiacaill Ridge. Very cold and very low cloud today. Third time on the Fiacaill in five days this week for me. It was desersted all the way and all the way back across a virtual white out plateau. Great day out! Another hard day trail breaking, well done to the guys in tough conditions. Meanwhile today, Liah was on her final day of her 4 day course. Richard Kermode was guiding for me today. They went to the Feshie hills were it was, not surprisingly, hard going. They covered navigation, built a big snow shelter and some more axe arresting.
