Penultimate day on this Walkers Haute Route.  It was a low cloud morning but after noon the sun and patches of blue sky appeared. Today's Col, the Augstboard Pass, takes us into the town of St. Nicklaus.  As forecasted, the sun broke through and some stunning light and cloud. Amazingly beautiful and atmospheric. The last couple of days we've seen more folk than the entire trek. I can never fathom where they all come from. Are they doing the Haute Route in full? Yesterday there was 2 separate groups asking directions to Gruben, they had no map. Today a large French group with a 'leader' walked off the route down to Jungen and looked like they were heading into the Jungtal on An unmarked trail. It's always wise to go with an experienced IML and a quality Tour company such as Cloud9 Adventure.
