There is a fresh dusting of snow to 800m today and remaining sub zero temperatures at Munro level in the Cairngorms.  All the old snow pack is well frozen and the crags rimed up. Everything looking good again! To top it all it was a beautiful day to be out, much better than the forecast suggested.  Some lovely sunny spells and very light winds. Lots of folk out climbing in Sneachda and on the Fiacaill Buttress. I was first along the Fiacaill Coire Sneachda ridge this morning,  always nice to have untrodden snow in front of you.  Plenty of ice and frozen snow along the ridge line. The plateau has some fresh snow but no depth.  Not a great deal of change in the weather over Christmas.  Light winds and mostly dry but the most important things g it's staying sub zero above 900m for most days. All good!
