UNSETTLED AND SNOW RETURNS

Love a happy Hare

A few days of unsettled and windy conditions after our wonderful spell of settled weather last week. Temperatures high for the time of year but yesterday it turned colder with snow showers down to 400m on the Monadhliath. I had a great couple of hours with the Mountain Hare and as usual  just one individual always makes the day special.

Shower clouds, nice afternoon

Cairngorms in cloud most of the day

A day of snow showers and sunshine forecast. As with any day with showers it is always hit and miss. So I ventured out anyway. The morning was a bit dull but dry. By noon the snow showers became more frequent but there were also big periods of lovely bright sun. I spent over an hour with one lovely hare who was happy just waiting in the sun to dry off and wake up from his snooze.

Yawning again

Love the relationship hares have with their surroundings

Finally, a stretch

Hopefully more snow cover for the hares over the next few days. More snow forecast to lower altitudes. Snow in the garden this morning....Winter is still here :)
