| High above the Val Bagnes |
Two of the fines sections of the Walkers Haute Route are on the high, wild and remote hills between the Val Bagnes and Arolla. Accommodation for two nights is in the Cabane Montfort and Cabane Prafleuri. The day up to the Montfort is an easy one on this itinerary, we use the Verbier cable cars to get from Val Bagnes at 800m back up to 2100m at Les Ruinettes.

We set off from Champex in warm sunshine. With rain and thunder forecasted by mid afternoon we were keen to get up to the Cabane Montfort. Perfect timing, the first few drops of rain fell after getting to our accommodation perched up at 2400m.
