THE SUN AND WARMTH RETURNS

Between Observatory Gully and The Douglas Boulder
Trident & Carn Dearg Buttress
John and I exploring the 'bergshrund' - The Garadh
Hot and sunny by this afternoon
After a drizzly and chilly interlude earlier in the week it was back to normal toady with the return of warm sunshine and blue skies. The day started overcast but by afternoon the cloud base had lifted above the tops. John and I had a wander up into Observatory Gully on Ben Nevis and then up into the Garadh Gully, investigating some wonderful remaining snow features, including a huge bergshrund to cool down in. By the time we started walking back down the Allt a' Mhuillin it was really warm and fab blue skies. The skies had a superb clarity today with the easterly airflow. More great weather to come over the weekend. Tomorrow morning  I'm off guiding on my third 3 Peaks Challenge this season, unfortunately it looks very wet in Snowdonia on Sunday whilst the Highlands will be basking in sunshine!
