Sgorr Ruadh is one of those hills that I would never tire of going back to time and time again. Lying between Glen Carron and Torridon, it has fantastic views of all the big Torridonian giants. The walk up Coire Lair from Achnashellach is an absolute delight. A fine stalkers path takes you up between Sgorr Ruadh and Beinn Liath Mhor with the views getting better and better as you get closer. On the way through is another impressive hill, Fuar Tholl which although not quite Munro height, is equally as spectacular. The mini warm spell on Monday/Tuesday hasn't made a big impact on snow, in fact its much easier on the walk in with the snowline receded to about 500m. From 700m onwards it was fabulous hard neve. We had sunshine late morning but high level cloud rolled in later. Still a lovely day with no winds. I traversed the hill going up the north ridge and down the southern side. Huge amounts of snow on this side of the hill, probably ski-able I would guess. Proper photos later. Top day. More snow on its way!
