What a stunning day! Wall to wall sun and light winds with high, teen temperatures at sea level. Christian and I had a fabulous day on the CMD ArĂȘte. Christian, from Australia, wasn't expecting these unusual temperatures for his winter outing, nor the beautiful weather. He was grinning all the way round the finest walking route to Ben Nevis. We only saw 6 people all day, two folk going the other way that I know. Despite the softish snow, the arĂȘte still required crampons in most sections. There was exposed rock which always makes for awkward walking, take 'em off or leave 'em on? We got to the summit of  Ben Nevis mid afternoon and was very quiet. We strolled down the Red Burn which still has much snow so makes a quick descent. We were round in under 9 hours. Top day and top guy. More warm sun rest of the week but cooling down by the weekend. Back to winter soon?
