ITALIAN SIDE OF MONT BLANC

Monte Bianco for elevenses by the lakeside
Great views down Val Veni

A crisp morning, after a wet previous day
The classic view from todays highpoint
Great clouds around Tre de la Tete
Aiguille Noir poking out the clouds
Yesterday we had a very wet time over the Col de la Seigne, a sharp contrast to the clear views and hot sun which we have been enjoying so far. Thankfully this was was only a weather front which passed thtough quite quickly. This morning we woke to beautiful sunshine and really clear air with the NW airflow. Great timing for one of the finest sections on the TMB, the high level route above Val Veni. A beautiful trail leaves from The Combal Lakes and climbs steadily to give stupendous views on the Italian side of Mont Blanc. All the way along to Maison Veille there are never ending photo opportunities of mountain and valley. There was some stubborn cloud around the high mountains but this gave some stunning formations with Monte Bianco's summit poking into clear blue skies on occasions. Wonderful.
