Probably the finest day of the entire TMB as got to be the high level traverse over Monte De La Saxe from Courmayeur to Val Ferret. Amazing then that only a fraction of trekkers out for this over the lower, inferior route which descends from the Refugio Bertone and stay much lower down the hill. How dare you! It was a superb clear day. Some fresh overnight snow above 3000m and a cold, stiff wind today for the team. But this gave wonderful clarity to the air and no afternoon cumulous on Mont Blanc. Stunningly beautiful views. Lots of marmotts out and about today too.
