TOUR DU MONT BLANC, NEVER SAY NEVER

Lunch time with Domes de Miage
Massive queues at the Parraselle Bridge

Earlier this summer I stated I was only guiding on one Tour Du Mont Blanc this season.  Well I couldn't refuse the offer from Mark at Alpine Treks when he asked me to guide a private family group on the TMB this week. The Duffy family from the USA wanted a bespoke highlights trip. So our 6 day Tour began today and like most of this summer it was another very hot, 30 degrees in Chamonix.  Thanks to a favour wind blowing it was a wee bit cooler this morning,  but of course this wind comes from a warm direction. The trail was superb busy today, 60 folk queuing at the Parraselle Bridge below the Aig. Bionassay.  Despite this we made lunch at Chalet Miage whilst it was quiet, before the mad rush. The fit, fun family were down at Les Contimenes well before the afternoon thunderstorm rolled in. Looking like this hot spell of weather will. Last for some days to come.
