Sun and powder snow
It was a glorious morning with deep blue skies, a temperature inversion and full powder snow coating on The Cairngorms. Today I was looking after a team of 7 students from Loughborough University, working for Pure Outdoor . They have been out on the hills learning lots of vital skills over the last two days. Today was a mountain day putting all they had learnt into action. We headed up onto The Fiacaill Coire Sneachda after some ice axe arresting lower down the ridge. It was just brilliant to be out in sunshine, blue skies and no wind. Lots of other folk must have had the same idea. The mountain was heaving with climbers, walkers and skiers. Despite this we still had plenty of space for us to enjoy the splendour of the ridge. Looking like a good spell of benign weather ahead this wee. Staying mostly dry, some sun and little in the way of winds. It does eventually arrive after enduring the wild weather of the Cairngorms.
