GREAT SNOW COVER, NO VIEWS

Great snow cover on the Fiacaill Coire Sneachda
No views today
Poor visibility on plateau
Monadhliath from Chais ridge
All steps easy on ridge
Lots of rime ice
Some weather forecasts have been very hit and  miss recently. Today was due to be an half decent day for views and sun. Never really got either of them. Still, we can't complain as the Cairngorms are looking a treat at the moment.  Full snow cover down to low levels. It was another day of sub zero temperatures at lower elevations. Any deviation off a blazed trail will have you working hard at the moment.  Even with the moderate/strong winds last couple of days hasn't made walking any easier on the plateau.  The Fiacaill Coire Sneachda has a great covering of snow and rime ice. All the steps on the ridge are brilliant and easy. No one along it today. Forecast for sun tomorrow,  well part of the day anyway.
