AN TEALLACH & TORRIDON

An Teallach

Fannaichs

This week I have been up in that most beautiful and wonderful of areas in the Northwest Highlands, Torridon. Over the last week or so there has been substantial cold temperatures along with snowfall. The mountains are much, much quieter than the well known mountain areas further south.

Trail breaking,  Beinn Eighe
An Teallach
From our wee cottage at Inverasdale it was just a couple of minutes stroll down to the coastline. Here we were treated to a pair otters, a juvenile Great Northern Diver, Curlew , Grey Heron and Oyster catcher!  A great start to 3 days even before heading up the hills! On An Teallach there were a pair of Golden Eagles which were soaring above us for over 15 minutes. What a treat!
Fionn Beinn
Loch Broom
Three days of great weather. There wasn't a soul on An Treallach nor on Fionn Beinn! Final day we headed up onto Beinn Eighe and there was a stunning temperature inversion. Brilliant.
