There was some fresh overnight snow down to lower levels in the Cairngorms. The trees in Glenmore with a new coat. Up on the mountains it was a glorious covering and bright sunshine. Warren out with me for two days of navigation in preparation for his upcoming Winter Mountain Leader assessment in March. We were quickly onto the plateau and lots of navigation looking for 'obscure' and featureless places! The fresh snow cover is probably the best we have had this season. A sea of white across the plateau to Ben Macdui.  The wind picked up a wee bit on the afternoon and some cloud cover. The first signs of the warmer weather front about to hit us this week. Warmer temperatures with freezing levels above the tops tomorrow. Don't panic,  we are only just halfway through the season.  Winter is not going away and it certainly is NOT Spring.
