A fine end to a fine day
It's nice to get the odd calm day. When it's combined with sub zero temperatures, even better. When there's a spell of sunshine that's just perfect. Well almost. Some normal January snow cover would be good but you can't have everything! Lovely day to be out. I had a wander around the quieter parts of the Cairngorm plateau. Didn't see anyone until the end of the day. The Feithe Buidhe waterfall is still running with ice reforming. Usually this area is completely frozen and/or covered in deep snow by this time in January. It was a grand spot for lunch today, watching the water running over ice. Still no ptarmigan about, although I did see poo spots and foot prints in several places, so they are around just very low numbers in 2019 and early 2020. Hopefully they will return.
Another calmish morning tomorrow before the next Atlantic storm heads our way on Saturday. Good news is we're in for some bumper snowfall well into next week. Maybe then it will look more like January.
