WINTER RETURNS TO THE CAIRNGORMS

Wind, snow and sun across the Cairngorm plateau

Temperatures had dropped overnight and into today with some light snow showers in The Cairngorms. About time too! It was fantastic to feel a cold, icy wind and snow in my face this morning on the way up to Meall a' Bhuachaille. Snow down to around 400m, most above 700m. It's not much but it's a start and a very welcome change from the horrible wet and warm conditions we've been experiencing for some days now. Staying cold with more snow to come. The high Cairngorms summit temperatures are forecast to be well below freezing next couple of days. It's light winds tomorrow too! A day to get out!
