AUTUMN & 2023 CALENDARS

October, for me,  marks that time of year that Autumn is upon us. The colours on the hill are starting to make a significant transformation in the landscape. That rich, golden brown is absolutely gorgeous. The trees are just starting to turn too. It's not only the land and plants that we see a change in colour, the light is just beautiful. The angle of the sun and the crisp, cooler air compliments the beautiful colours on the ground. Unfortunately  we've not seen any frosts here in Strathspey yet. There have been very few bright, clear days and colder temperatures. It's been a very unsettled weather pattern with very dreary skies and a fair amount of wet spells recently.  It will come! 

On Sunday there was a small weather window where we did get a clear morning in Strathspey,  after a couple of high winds and high rainfall days. We took advantage of this to witness a stunning sunrise over the Cairngorms.

Beautiful colours of Autumn 

You can't beat getting up early and setting off in the dark to catch those first rays of light as the sun slowly rises above the horizon. At least this time of year you don't have to get out of bed too early to capture the magic. I decided to take my 2 camera bodies and lenses on Sunday. One for landscapes and my second camera, with the bigger telephoto lens, for capturing the Mountain Hares.

Autumn is also the period when my wall calendars are printed up and ready for purchase. Once again I have a choice of Mountain Hare & Mountain Lanscape on offer. Limited to just 50 of each. Nearly one third have already been sold. Don't leave it too late ;) 😉
