Phil is out with me on a 2 day Navigation Course starting today.
Phil already has some excellent map reading skills and experience but wants to get confident with the compass and walking on pathless terrain.

| Rain and high winds over the Cairngorm plateau |

With a forecast of 70-90mph winds on the Cairngorm plateau today we thought not to make it too extreme so stayed on some lower hills in the Monadhliath.We found plenty of featureless and pathless ground to work in. It was only 50mph at 850m and dry until mid afternoon when the rain came on. First soaking for a while.
