DRIZZLE & MISSLE

Plenty of snow and fun

 Saturday 18th March.

A bit of a soggy start to a 2 day winter skills. Erica & Chris out with me this weekend. When the weather forecasts suggested a 'mainly dry' day I think they were slightly incorrect judging by our wet gear after a couple of hours.

It was very quiet in the Northern Corries, lovely and peaceful apart from the croaking Ptarmigan and lovely chatter of snow bunting. Despite the thaw conditions we found some excellent, hard snow above 1000m which was great for cramponing technique. Areas on the plateau are bare but also large sections of snow lying still.

We even managed some ice axe arresting towards the end of the afternoon.

It's still winter, even if it's missle, drizzle and rain. A good day to test out how good your gear is.
