Wednesday 8th March.
Absolutely beautiful winters day in the Cairngorms today.
Colin is out with Gary Hodgson Photography for 2 days of Mountain Hare phphotography.

He couldn't have picked
2 days in the whole of this winter that are sublime as this (similar forecast tomorow)
With hardly a breeze, clear skies and lots of beautiful, deep powder snow it was an opportunity to get up high on the Cairngorms with the high altitude hares, the hardiest of them all.

It was way below freezing in Aviemore and on the hill but felt much less cold than a typical Cairngorm breezy day.
It's rare for me to take out the big pure down ME Annapurna 'Arctic' jacket. ( down is useless in a typical Scottish mountain weather day). Today I was snug and warm has the 2 beautiful mountain hares we photographed.

Colin was over the moon to get some stunning weather and to photograph one of the most adorable creatures in Scotland. We even had time for our luncheon whilst being close to one Hare for over 1.5 hrs.
Top day, top hares, top company.
