Fine day in the Monadhliath today |
Tuesday 7th March.
A beautiful winters day in the Cairngorms. We had a nice few cm's of snow in Aviemore last night and into this morning. Lovely sunshine for most of the day and lighter winds.

Snow at Aviemore level |
|
Two feet of snow in the garden |
It was a glorious day in the Monadhliath. Superb sunshine for most of the day at 850m. The high Cairngorms tops slowly cleared by the afternoon.
|
Some clouds over the Cairngorms |
|
Nice cloudscapes |
think we are going to have a lovly spell of winter conditions right through to Easter this year. So if you're thinking of packing t shirts and shorts for the hills then best think again.
|
Low temperatures at low levels |
|
Beautiful rime iced vegetation |
I still have availability over Easter if you want some essential winter skills, winter navigation or a winter guided walk.
|
Plenty of this today |
It was much cloudier yesterday, in the same area of the Monadhliath. Poor visibility in the low cloud and drifting snow.

Yesterday's clouds |
Tomorrow looks like a stunning day again. Best get the shades and sunscreen out again. 😀
