I love April, it's that month when you cam be basking in sunshine through fields or on warm rock with lovely blue skies, or you can prolong your winter season and play in the snow! Today it was the latter. There has been a few days of showery, rainy and cloudy weather in The Cairngorms and much of The Highlands. Today the sun came out and cloud base was high most of the morning. With just a 15 minute flurry of snow I enjoyed a lovely morning romping over a deserted Fiacaill ridge and Cairngorm plateau. You could have been fooled into thinking it was any month in winter today. Full snow cover on the plateau. The ridge had a healthy covering and definitely winter conditions too. There was probably a wee bit more snow last April but it's looking very similar to 2015. There is still plenty of winter fun to be had, if you want it! It ain't over till the fat snow man sings.
