One of the classic Treks in The Alps is the Haute Route. This fabulous long distance walk links the two famous towns of Chamonix and Zermatt which are steeped in mountaineering history. 10 days trekking with some of the finest scenery you could wish for. Forest, flower filled meadows, 4000m glaciated peaks and wonderful wildlife await. This first of three Haute Route Treks I am guiding this summer got off to a rather grey and damp start. Day 1 is a beautiful,  easy stretch from Argentiere over the Aiguillete de Posettes and up to the Swiss border at Col de Balme. This is the only section on the Route which is on French soil. From the Col we are entirely in Switzerland for the remainder of the Tour. This week I am guiding for KE Travel and I have a fit group of 10 folk from the UK & USA.
