FENETRE ARPPETTE

The Trient Glacier
Enroute to the Fenetre Arppette
Trient Glacier and Point d'Orny
The Fenetre Arppette is a big day with over 1950m of ascent and about the same decent.  The views compensate the long, hard day. Thankfully the weather is on the turn for the better and we enjoyed good sunny skies and warmer. The steep path from just above Trient takes you ever closer beside the Trient Glacier, eventually teaching the narrow col at 2650m. Just before we reached the col we spotted a beautiful male ibex just sunbathing on the crags opposite us. We also observed a Golden Eagle on our way up. Another great day and a good steady group.
