AN TEALLACH WEEKEND

Cona Mheall & Coire Ghrunda

Another fabulous weekend of guiding in the North West Highlands. On Saturday I was guiding a group on the finest mountain on the planet,  An Teallach. On Sunday I had the same group with a couple of other folk up on the Munros around the Beinn Dearg area near Ullapool.

FRIDAY 4 JUNE

Nice campspot but midges out later

Water levels very low at the moment

Falls of Measach

I travelled up North on Friday afternoon in time for meeting up with my group early next morning. Unfortunately the midges are now out in force up this way. The curse of camping in the summer months. Water levels in burns and even bigger rivers are very low just now. We've not had any serious rain for sometime. It was a pleasant and dry evening for a wander about after pitching the tent.

SATURDAY 5 JUNE

Sunshine on Sail Liath

I had 6 folk on An Teallach today. The weather forecast was indicating some heavy showers/prolonged rain by early afternoon. It turned out to be a brilliant weather day. The tops clear all day and some brighter spells at times. Only the last hour did we get a bit of rain. Great day.

SUNDAY 6 JUNE

A fine day on the four Munros of Beinn Dearg, Cona Mheall,  Meall nan Ceapraichean & Eididh nan Clach Geala near Ullapool. Great views all day, very dry underfoot and beautiful sunshine towards the end of the day.
