NAVIGATION COURSE

Map and compass, the essentials
Jesse is out with me today and tomorrow on a 2 day Navigation Course. Booking a 1:1 course offers bespoke, individual tuition. Flexibility on dates and going at a suitable pace are just two of many benefits.

Off paths

Cairn Gorm

We were soon off paths and onto featureless terrain. Unfortunately it was hot, sunny and clear skies. Some cloud would have been welcome for more realistic navigation conditions. Even when pathless areas are out free your map reading skills need to be good.

Snow lingering

We covered a huge chunk of the Cairngorm plateau with lots of bearings, navigating across various aspects including lengthy stretches over large snowfields.

Lochsn Buidhe defrosted

Feithe Buidhe

A top day,  Jesse gaining lots of vital navigation skills and confidence. Being able to navigate confidently across this kind of landscape opens up a whole new world to escape from guidebooks and explore wilder mountainscapes.

Shelterstone

Braeriach

The snows melting at the Feithe Buidhe.

Coire an Lochain

I had a great blast home on the push bike. A hot afternoon,  cooling off on the big downhill ride.

Great pictures...my admiration is more for your ability to write these things up efficiently and effectively...that requires devotion to your blog
