ANOTHER BUSY WINTER

Beautiful light, beautiful Mountain Hare
The Scottish winter season has always been the busiest period in the year for Tarmachan Mountaineering.  My business has been running for over 20 years now and very well established. We pride ourselves on providing flexible, friendly and bespoke days out, all year round. Winter is without doubt the finest season and virtually all my courses are geared towards the individuals needs and aspirations. My courses are not rigid or set dates.  This gives lots of scope for people booking their time off work and I tailor the day to their timescales.

Always brings a smile to see my hares been running around

And more

Beautiful late afternoon light

This guy looked like he made a good snow shelter from the recent high winds

Lovely light

This is particularly true to today.  I had a client up in the area for a few days and they were keen to choose the best weather day this week, which was today. They were on one of my popular Mountain Hare Photography workshops. We had a fab day, encountering 2 delightful hares. A drizzly, misty walk up the hill to start but it cleared up by late morning. We timed it perfectly for the clouds to lift and some nice visibility. The best moment was a lovely hare sitting in the sun and gazing across to Strathspey below.

My wildlife and landscape photography days are becoming popular year on year too. This winter looks like being the busiest season so far with 14 mountain hare & Ptarmigan photography days booked for January and February.

I've only a handful of dates available for the rest of January and February. If you're wanting to book a day out in March please get in touch. The second half of the finest month of the winter still has plenty of availability.
