With much lighter winds it was great to get onto a journey in the mountains.
We had some wonderful wind scoured, firm and frozen snow slopes today, brilliant cramponing.

On the plateau it was poor visibility but we enjoyed the cold, minus a lot temperatures as we made our way up to Cairn Gorm summit.

Only a brief couple of snow flurries.
The snowline had creeped down to 400m with the overnight snow.

Some aspects were CONSIDERABLE avalanche risk today. We had another good chat about avalanche assessment and awareness and looked in detail at the SAIS forecast before setting out.
