Winter made a very welcome return today. Overnight snow showers continued into much of today.Much colder temperatures, well below freezing on the tops and high winds. The Cairngorms were transformed again. Second day with Chris and the team. We headed into Coire an t-Sneachda and had a brilliant up Point Five Gully. The snow here was just soft two days previously. Today it was solid, frozen snow all the way up. There was ice on the rocks in the corrie and what were waterfalls off these slabs were now frozen water ice. The winds blew up the gully with plenty of windblown snow making it very atmospheric and just wonderful to feel cold and ice on your face! We wandered over to the snowshelters at Coire Domhain for lunch. The plateau looking very wintry and poor visibility. The guys were up for tagging on a Munro to finish the day off so we walked over Cairn Gorm in 60mph winds at the top. A great couple of days and thanks for the great craic and laughs guys.
