The stiff pull to the Reidmatten
Clear skies overnight and a stunning morning,  well stunning all day really. Sadly the team were down to just 4 today. The others opting for the bus round from Lac Dix to Arolla .The Haute Route is a tough trek but worth it. From the Col de Choux you get a fabulous views of the day ahead. Once above Lac Dix you enter a world of 'raw' mountain scenery.  No green meadows here just bare rock, moraine and glaciated high mountain.  Love it. Clarity of light superb. The bigger Col later in the day is probably the toughest on the entire trek. Some loose rock and steep incline are tackled to gained the spectacular Col de Reidmatten. The alternative Col de Chevrys is adjacent.  Most folk head for this Col which is festooned with Ladders and walkways. For me the Reidmatten is superior. An easy stroll down to Arolla and back to civilisation after the wildest section on the Walkers Haute Route.  #montblanctreks
