WINTER SKILLS, AONACH MOR

A lovely day today on Aonach Mor, with low freezing levels and great views, we got some nice sunshine. There had been fresh overnight snow down to virtually sea level and light winds. Andy and Geoff are with me on a three day winter skills course.Today we covered cutting steps, ice axe arresting and cramponing on steeper terrain. We went onto The Nid area where we saw no one all day, a different story from a couple of days ago when there were many groups out. Windslab was present on NE slopes, we covered avalanche awareness as we made our way up onto the plateau.
