NEW YEAR, BEN NEVIS

Elisabeth and Gerry are with me on a two day course and today we headed up No.4 Gully on Ben Nevis. The overnight freezing levels dropped to almost sea level so the snowpack was well frozen at all levels and gave excellent cramponing. It was quite busy on the hill today, everyone making use of the excellent conditions  being the end of the Christmas holidays too, no doubt. A nice way to start the New Year today and with forecast of fresh snow over the coming week it looks to be a very wintry week ahead. Happy New Year!
