What a fantastic day today in The Highlands. Andy and Geoff were treated to a fantastic winters day and to round off their three day course we ended in spectacular fashion over the CMD arete onto Ben Nevis. There was a bitterly cold NW wind this morning which was blowing some snow around and a few clouds on the highest summits but these disappeared by mid day and we enjoyed wonderful views, a day for photos all the way around. There is unconsolidated snow on the ridge and some beautiful sharp aretes of snow and cornices along the ridge. We only saw one other person today and we enjoyed a late afternoon empty summit as the sun went down. Geoff and Andy even had excess energy so climbed the rime ice on the summit shelter to get the highest point! A beautiful sunset on the way down. It was hard trying to limit photos on here today! Apologies!!!
