A DESERTED BRAERIACH IN THE HEAT

Sumit views from Braeriach
An easy grade 1 climb on Braeriach!
Cairn Toul & Sgor an Lochan Uaine
Some folk with a death wish, would you walk along a cornice?
Good views of Angels Ridge
Lairig Ghru from the Lairig Ridge
How much more heat can this one take?
The fabulous 'summer' weather continued today in The Cairngorms. We seemed to have skipped Spring and gone straight from winter into summer. Anyone on a week long Easter holiday over the holiday season must have big smiles and probably red faces too! Karen and I had a great day out on Braeriach today. After a very leisurely 10.30am start at Coylumbridge we passed a few folk cycling and dog walking in the Rothiemurchus Forest but once we headed into the Lairig Ghru we saw no one again all the way up the mountain! A gorgeous Bank Holiday weather day on Braeriach and not a soul to be seen. Karen had her binoculars on Cairn Gorm and counted 10's of folk up there. It was another very warm day in the glens but high up on Braeriach's plateau it was cooler than yesterday. Still plenty of snow around on the big mountains of The Highlands if you want it but with this very warm weather I would suggest you get out early. Alpine indeed! Rest of the week looking superb.
