Richard capturing the inversion |
Saturday 18th February.
A stunning day in the Cairngorms. At last, snow down to Aviemore level and below freezing this morning.
|
The big one |
A glorious day for return client, Richard. Richard came out with me last year to photograph the beautiful Mountain Hares. He's back this year and booked 2 days with Gary Hodgson Photography. He couldn't have chosen a more perfect day for his first stint out this weekend.

Snow at Aviemore level |

Breaking into the clear skies |
A temperature inversion with the cloud top sitting and hovering around 600m today. Zilch wind, clear skies and beautiful powder snow for a backdrop to the hares. We even got a fog bow. A fab day and so quiet. Everyone must have thought the clag, murk and fog in Strathspey was like that all the way up the hill.

Not bad |

Temperature inversion |
Good to see winter conditions at last, at least for a day.

Beautiful early morning |

Top day out.
