UNSETTLED WEATHER

Mostly it was like this

It's been a very unsettled week. Low cloud, rain and worse of all the dreaded midge has been in plagues throughout the Cairngorms. Midges in the mountains is quite unusual for the Eastern Highlands, the west coast usually faring the worse. I guess with days and days of no wind and a wet period with huge amounts of thick cloud doesn't help. So challenging conditions for wildlife photography today. This was supposed to be the best weather day of the week. The cloud was way down to around 550m this morning. A few showers made it a poor morning to see, never mind photograph any wildlife. By afternoon it did clear and the tops were even clear at one point. The saviour of the day was the cute Mountain Hare in his usual patch where I have been photographing him since last winter. After several years you get to know certain hare's and where they 'hang out'. Looking like a Autumn day tomorrow! Very wet and very windy.
