My favourite day on the Haute Route is between Cabane Montfort & Cabane Prafleuri. High, wild, remote, extremely scenic and wildlife.

From Cabane Montfort to Cabane Prafleuri via the 3 high cols of Termin, Louvie & Prafleuri is a day to savour. Some fabulous scenery and wildlife to enjoy on this high level rollercoaster amongst the wildest section of the trek. It was a wet and chilly evening, leaving a damp and cloudy start first thing. The rain soon ceased and some great cloud cconditions.

The recent rain over the last couple of weeks has given a new lease of life to some of the flowers for a last spurge of Summer.

Great to see fresh snow on Mont Blanc de Cheilon and Pigne de Arolla from the Col Prafleuri. A cool day, even in the sun. The chill air of Autumn in the Alps. Love it.

Just before gaining the Cabane Prafleuri spotted a wonderful group of ibex. I sat photographing them for some time.
