WARMER

Snow consolidating

No winds here

Diminishing snow at lower altitudes

Some early sun

Safe route choice

Coire an t-sneachda

 Nice clouds to the north
High winds of up to 120mph last night on the Cairngorm plateau. Coupled with much milder temperatures. This morning the winds were down to 40-50mph but they eased slowly through the day. Out with Stuart & Georgina on their two day course. The snowpack has diminished at lower altitudes but still holding well above 900m. Above 1000m it was lovely walking as the snowpack consolidates. This should freeze up over the next couple of days as the temperatures come down again. By late afternoon the winds on the plateau were only a moderate breeze. Much more bearable. A great couple of day with two lovely folk. Well done for battling the Cairngorm winds.
