BEN NEVIS AGAIN

For the third time in 4 days I was back on Ben Nevis. Today I met up with my old mate Paul Milligan. We had a great day over the Carn Mor Dearg Arete onto Ben Nevis. A decent weather forecast if a dry day with some possible bright spells.

We set off with low cloud over the top of The Ben. By the time we reached 800m on Carn Dearg Beag the cloud started breaking up a bit with some wonderful, teasing glimpses of the UK's highest peak.

Temperatures were much milder than recent days. Much of the snow from Thursday and Friday had melted away. It was actually sweaty heading up to Carn Mor Dearg's summit.

Nice views heading along the narrow ridge that connects CMD to Ben Nevis. It was relatively quiet, just a handful of folk. The best of the weather had now ended. The cloud drifted over but still nice views.

There was some soft snow above 1250m on the final slopes from the end of the arete to the summit of The Ben. The normal cloud on the summit area. So no views.
