Great snow cover
Some overnight snow and freezing temperatures to low levels in The Cairngorms. Great cover of snow down to 700m. A dry day and even some sun, minimal winds once again, how blessed are we? A great day for Isabel & Martin. Day Three of their four day course this week and today we covered steep ground. The Fiacaill Ridge is always a pleasure, summer or winter. We round into Coire an Lochan and gained the ridge via the western slopes  always quiet from this side. We met Nick and folks from the Midweek Mountaineering Club on our way up the ridge, apart from a few other people, it was quiet. We timed it perfectly, getting some lovely sunshine along the arete and on the top. Getting colder day by day this week, we had temperatures well below freezing on the tops, -5 is always a benchmark for when I get a nippy nose. A top day out and smiles all the way.
