HALF WAY THROUGH WINTER AND THE FINEST DAY

A sunlit Fiacaill Ridge
Blue skies and rimed rocks
There is warmth in the sun!
Busy as usual
Busy in Sneachda
Lots of folk having fun
Looking good in Sneachda
Cairn Gorm from the ridge
Some morning cloud burning off
What a contrast to yesterday! Today we had an absolutely stunning afternoon. Blue skies, not a breath of wind and warmth in the sun. Probably the finest day in The Cairngorms so far this winter. Lots of folk out and about, walking, climbing, skiing, dog walking on the Fiacaill Ridge-yes a first! A dog taken for a walk by a couple of climbers! It is still heavy going on the lower ground after more fresh snow yesterday. Up on the Fiacaill Ridge the walking and climbing is great. It was just a wonderful day to be out and about and enjoying the Scottish winter hills. We are only half way through the season. Another bout of high winds and ore snowfall tomorrow then settled again Wednesday & Thursday.
