Beautiful late afternoon light
More navigation
A very white sneachda
Final day for Isabel & Martin who have been out with me this week. Today they were after a good hill day and some more navigation, with a Munro summit in the bag. It had been snowing steadily to low levels from early hours this morning and continued until mid day. With poor visibility right from the word go it was back to map and compass for much of the day. We headed up toward Cairn Gorm after a short detour  to Ciste Mearad for a snow shelter elevenses. After Cairn Gorm summit we walked over to Stag Rocks and away from the masses. Always peace and quiet here and of course some of the finest views in The Cairngorms, looking down into the Loch Avon basin. The sun broke through here and some beautiful cloud formations. The guys navigated their way back over to 1141m and back down in glorious late afternoon sunshine to end a great 4 days. Martin & Isabel are now well skilled to tackle the Scottish winter mountains.
