Alpine!
Chris and Rhys out again for another day in the winter hills. They wanted a shorter day today so we headed up the beautiful Glen Feshie and to the summit of Sgor Gaoithe. The 'Sgorans' as they are affectionaly known are a group of lovely hills with easy gradients, the highest summit of Sgor Gaoithe as one of the finest views in the area. Stunning in winter conditions, the view over to Braeriachs western slopes and Loch Einich is just beautiful. The snow had firmed up nicely with yet another sub zero overnight temperatures. Despite the lower slopes being windswept and scoured, the snow above 850m was superb. The sun came out after mid day and we timed it perfectly at the top, great views as the cloud broke up. The afternoon was even better with beautiful late afternoon sunshine and warmth on our faces. A day for the sunglasses. Thanks to Chris, Rhys and Katherine for another great two days. They finally got superb weather on the annual visit. Back to high winds an more snowfall tomorrow. Trail breaking again for me this weekend then?
