BYNACK MORE, FABULOUS CONDITIONS

Wonderful conditions above 800m
Monday 9th January.

Fabulous day on Bynack More with return client Andrew today. Andrew has been on numerous Cairngorm and NW Highlands adventures with Tarmachan Mountaineering over the last 10 years and on one of my Tour du Mont Blanc treks.

Tea time out of the wind

Fabulous

We had stunning weather and snow conditions on Bynack More, probably the best snow I've had on this hill which I've been up over 50 times probably. The m/f cycles and strong winds have frozen and scoured the old snow and it was brilliant, icy cramponing conditions. The strong winds were loading windslab on the side of the ridge and beautiful to watch spindrift everywhere.

Barns of Bynack

We had luncheon out of the wind at the Barns of Bynack, the mountains finest feature. We saw no one on the hill once past the Ryvoan junction.

A top day with top company.

Tuesday 10th January.

Icy snow at 800m

Summit winds OK

2nd day out for Andrew and today we were joined by his wife, Louise, who was also.on one of my Tour du Mont Blanc treks.

With gales forecast on the big Cairngorm mountains we elected yo have a day out on some of the lower Monadhliath hills.

We had a fab time, out of any cloud and only a brief snow shower.

Frozen snow and rime ice above 600m.

We spotted a lovely mountain hare and there wasn't another soul on the hill.

A tiop couple of days with valued return clients.

Next on the list for Andrew is the CMD arete in March. We're waiting for pristine conditions, no end and sunshine with far reaching views 😀.
